By accessing or using CalibRank ("the platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
CalibRank is an AI-powered debate intelligence platform. Users submit arguments on debate topics, which are scored by AI on clarity, evidence, logic, and originality. The platform also enables voting, challenges, and community discussion.
You may browse debates and vote as a guest. To submit arguments, earn Caliber Points, and appear on the leaderboard, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity under it.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You retain ownership of the arguments and content you submit. By posting content on CalibRank, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and process your content as part of the platform's operation (including AI scoring, embedding generation, and public display).
You are solely responsible for the content you submit. Content must not violate applicable laws or the rights of others.
You agree not to:
All submitted arguments are automatically processed by an AI toxicity filter. Toxic content — including harassment, objectification, derogatory language, and profanity — is sanitized (AI rewrites the content with inappropriate parts replaced). Content flagged as potential misinformation is marked as disputed. No content is silently removed; all moderation is transparent and visible.
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts at our discretion if we determine that a user is acting in bad faith or violating these terms.
AI scores are generated automatically and reflect the AI's assessment of argument quality. Scores are not guaranteed to be perfect or unbiased. We continuously work to improve scoring accuracy, but AI scores should not be interpreted as definitive truth or endorsement.
CalibRank has three user tiers: Guest, Member, and Titan.
Titan privileges may be revoked if a user abuses their elevated access.
Titan Premium is available as a one-time lifetime purchase ($49, limited to the first 300 users) or an annual subscription ($29/year). Founding Calibrant (lifetime) purchases are non-recurring and never expire. Annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. All payments are final. Since Titan benefits are delivered instantly upon purchase, refunds are generally not available unless required by applicable law. Payment processing will be handled by a third-party provider; their terms apply to the transaction.
Arenas are CalibRank-curated public debate categories (e.g. Tech, Sports, Science). All public debates are organized into arenas. Arena debates are publicly visible, indexed by search engines, and contribute to your global Caliber Points and leaderboard ranking. Arenas are managed by CalibRank and cannot be created by users.
Private Rooms are user-created invite-only debate spaces. Any authenticated user may create a Private Room. Room creators become the room owner and may appoint up to 4 additional admins. Room admins are responsible for inviting members, creating debates, and moderating activity within their room.
Room owners and admins must not use invitation features to spam or harass individuals. All content within rooms is subject to the same content moderation, toxicity filtering, and prohibited conduct rules as the public platform.
We reserve the right to deactivate rooms that are used for illegal activity, coordinated abuse, or violations of these terms. Room scores and leaderboards are isolated from the public platform and do not affect global rankings.
The Crucible is a quarterly debate competition open to all registered users. Each quarter features a single debate topic. All participants receive an equal 1,000-word budget regardless of tier, and Silver Bullets are disabled. Crucible scores count toward the global leaderboard and Caliber Points.
Top finishers may receive physical merchandise or profile badges at CalibRank's discretion. Prize availability and selection are determined by CalibRank and may vary by quarter. CalibRank reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel The Crucible at any time.
